The GOP and Limbaugh

…imagine the reaction if Rhandi Rhodes was penning editorials in the NY Times dictating the course of policy for the Democrats, and the Democrats were embracing her pearls of wisdom. I can’t believe the Republicans are going to gamble their future [on Limbaugh] like this, but then again, nothing they do surprises me.

This is interesting as well:

BTW- the best part of the Limbaugh stimulus is that he supports a 900 billion dollar stimulus, so I expect that means he will shut up about the size and cost of the bill, as it is clear that he doesn’t care that it costs that much, but what bothers him is that his share isn’t big enough.

Anybody that thinks the GOP gets their marching orders from Limbaugh is just, well stupid. It would be like assuming that the Dems gets theirs from that little troll Paul Begala.

Begala, while definitely a troll, has never had the kind of influence on Democratic politics as Limbaugh has on Republicans.

If there is no connection between Republican policy-making and Limbaugh, why have so many Republican politicians spoken out against Limbaugh, only to run crying for forgiveness the very next day?

Hell if I know. I’m conservative and can’t stand Limbaugh … he’s a blow hard. But I guess he does have a huge audience.
James Carville and Paul Begala both make me want to puke about as much as Limbaugh does. None of the above are good for politics.

  4. Paul Says:

You’ll get no argument from me about Carville and Begala. They’re examples of the kind of centrist/establishment/DLC Democrats that have enabled the Republican party for the past 20 years. They’re fuckin’ tools and I care not a whit for them.

Still, again I would argue that their influence is but a minuscule fraction of Limbaugh’s.
